Happy Labor Day!! … I say as I get ready for my first classes of the semester today. It’s crazy to think that I’ve already been here for over a week! For a second there I forgot that I’m actually here to learn… not just travel and eat delicious italian food (but I don’t need to tell you that if you’ve seen my neurontin 300 mg high at all…).
On Saturday some friends and I traveled over to Cinque Terre. We made the most of our day trip by visiting Manarola, Vernazza, and Monterosso; hiking from one town to the next, lying on the beautiful black sand of Monterosso and swimming in the surprisingly rough waves. I found myself already saying, “It’s only 2 hours – we should definitely go back!” before we even got off of the train from La Spezia. If I have the time to go back I’d love to hike the trails between all 5 towns! Hiking just one of those mountains was a work out (3 very steep and rocky miles), but it’s stunning and the views are well worth it.
