Leather, pale pink and fur…. I’m already obsessed. I appreciate that runway shows are often an art form and not quite “ready to wear,” but when I see a show where the clothes are bold, yet wearable i’m intrigued.
This past Thursday I had the privilege of attending Marissa Webb’s NYFW Fall 2014 show and I LOVED it. I could honestly see myself wearing so may of the trends, but my two favorites are the not so new leather trend and the pale pink (from a fashion standpoint I love the fur, but I still haven’t made my stance on real vs faux) trend. Webb introduced a stellar idea of having leather sleeves that act similar to gloves, which allows you to wear the look with dozens of outfit combinations. I think this is such an easy and economically realistic way to incorporate the leather trend. I’m so in. Now throw in some pale pink and i’m a happy girl. I think that pale pink and black epitomize chic because they even each other out. The harshness of black is feminized with the iconically “girly” pink and the twist of doing the pink in fall instead of spring is a refreshing idea.
I look forward to seeing more from Marissa Webb and when those black leather armlets go on sale they will most definitely be found under my “Hot Picks” category.
